ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL REPORT
It has been a very good term with so many successes and achievements. I would like to thank the many parents and carers with whom I have met and had conversations with this term. Always at the centre is the care and concern you have for the young people in your lives and a willingness to work in partnership with us. Sometimes with the school holidays, comes issues for young people around the use of technology. Young people with lots of spare time may find themselves spending lots of time on line. This can be problematic if using inappropriate Apps such as Melon or using Apps inappropriately, such as Snapchat. Please have conversations with the young person in your home about how they intend to interact with people on social media and most importantly who they are in contact with. Please visit the site of the eCommissioner for guidance. I would also like to recommend The Student Wellbeing Hub which is a fantastic website for Teachers, Parents and Young People. It has lots of good parenting advice - including guiding your child toward safe and responsible use of social media.

Finally, a reminder that Term 2 begins on Monday 29 April with Friday 20 May as a Pupil Free Day for staff to undertake Professional Development. All students are to be in Winter Uniform. Please take the opportunity to ensure that students are wearing all of the appropriate parts of the Winter Uniform - including a laundered blazer. A reminder that dry cleaners are under pressure this time of year with ANZAC Day coming up as well so please place dry cleaning in sooner rather than later. Please see the diary for a full description of the winter uniform. This includes the blazer that must be worn to and from school each day beginning from Day 1 of Term 2. Blazers must be worn to PALS. Boys must wear a long sleeved shirt. Girls have the option of wearing long navy pants with black or navy socks or skirt with navy opaque tights in the winter months. The pants must be purchased from Lowes, other brands of pants are unacceptable. If Lowes brand are unavailable or not a good fit, girls must wear the skirt. Please ensure skirt lengths are at the knee. Sports uniform jackets must be worn with the sports uniform. Jumpers may be worn under the sports jacket but never as an alternative to the sports jacket. Please ensure that this has been organised during the holiday break as many students may have grown in the last few months. A reminder that hoodies and other jumpers are not a part of the school uniform.
Have a great holiday break.
