PASTORAL CARE

Social Media Policy

The CEDoW launched the new Social Media Policy on Tuesday 2nd April that explores the education benefits of using Social Media as an educational tool as well as clear expectations and guidelines in its usage by staff, students and parents. We are also planning on holding a launch night for parents where we will look over the policy, unpack it and hold a Q&A. I have attached a parent information sheet to help explore the policy, included a link to the policy and outlined the date for a Social Media Policy Parent Launch.

Uniform

All students must wear the winter uniform from Monday Day 1 Term 2. All students must wear their blazers to school and into PALS and then again from last lesson home.

For girls: stockings replace socks with skirts. Withdrawals will apply from day 1. You may need to get your blazer cleaned over the holidays.

Piercings

Coming up to the holidays, it may be a temptation for your son and daughter to get
an additional piercing, however, as it take approximately 6 weeks to heal, we would
suggest that this is avoided. Students are not permitted to have additional piercings
to those listed in the School Diary. If students do have noticeable additional
piercings, they will be asked to remove them and placed on uniform withdrawal.

Safe Holidays

As we come to the end of Term 1, I would sincerely like to say thank all of the staff,
students and parents for another wonderful Term. SJE is a unique community full of
wonderful people all striving toward the same purpose - the care, wellbeing and
education of your sons, daughters and people in your care.
I would also like to wish everyone a well deserved, safe and enjoyable break over the
next two weeks and hope you have a peaceful Easter. I look forward to seeing you
again for another amazing Term on Monday 29 April.

While holidays can be a time for rejuvenation, at times, they can also pose
challenges for parents and students who are experiencing hardship, as such, I have
attached a great support resource that we use as a school community to highlight
key support services available to all.
I have also attached a fantastic article from Parenting Ideas that explores hints and
tips around managing use of technology as well as balancing extracurricular activities
for students.
