YEAR 8 NEWS

    Year 8 students have been involved in a range of activities this term, with plenty of hands-on learning during class as well as engaging in extra-curricular opportunities. Students have demonstrated a great willingness to have a go and work with others to strengthen our bond as a year group.

    YEAR 8 MPOWER ME

    Year 8 students recently engaged in a two day ‘Mpower Me’ Program, designed to build confidence & self esteem focusing on right & respectful relationships, self representation, belonging, connection and self-talk.
    Students enjoyed participating in a range of activities including box ‘n’ breathe, team building, bushwalking, yoga, rock climbing & more!

    YEAR 8 STEM IMMERSION DAY

    Year 8 students recently engaged in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Immersion Day, enjoying challenges of creating and testing catapults, flying planes and towers to withstand earthquakes .

    YEAR 8 DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY

    Year 8 Tech Mandatory have been learning various techniques for tie dying fabrics producing some excellent results!

    YEAR 8 VISUAL ARTS

    Year 8 Visual Arts students have been working with clay to produce a representation of something meaningful to them.

    YEAR 8 SCIENCE

    Students in Year 8 have been dissecting chicken wings during their recent practical lesson.

    YEAR 8 SPORT - SKIPPING

    Year 8 students have been rotating activities for sport this term. This group explored ‘Body Mechanics’, a combination of functional movement, dance, cardio fitness & strength training. Students smashed out their skipping warm up, focusing on elevation & timing, skills they can integrate into dance combos!

    YEAR 8 TECHNOLOGY MANDATORY - WORKING ON AG FARM

    Students in our Year 8 TM class have been making some valuable contributions to our Ag Farm.

    Despite this week's sudden transition to remote learning, teachers continue to support students and encourage you to contact them if you require help. Please remember to take time to look after yourself, taking some time to exercise and relax each day. Stay safe and I hope to see you all again soon!
