SENIOR STUDENTS COOK FOR VINNIES

Our senior students are fantastic role models for the junior grades, demonstrating our school values of 'hope, justice, love, compassion, hospitality & spirituality' through involving themselves in a variety of activities to help both our school and the wider community.
Cody Ewen, Milla Watt, Michelle Su & Matthew Taufa along with Ms Arenas & Ms Kidson, donated their time after school last Wednesday to cook around 40 serves of spaghetti bolognaise to be distributed by Vinnies to the homeless and those in need in our local community. We are incredibly proud to see our students develop into such compassionate, selfless and grateful young people.

NEW TECHNOLOGY IN TAS

Our students are really loving the new technology in HSIE, an augmented reality sandbox!
This 3D interactive, dynamic tool will assist students to understand mapping, landforms, topography, watersheds, natural hazards & more!
This fabulous idea has come to fruition with thanks to our wonderful staff. Special thanks to Mr Gibson (TAS) for building the box, Mr Warfield (I.T) for programming and Ms Blades & the HSIE faculty for coordinating and educating.

JAG CATHOLIC EARTHCARE YOUTH SUMMIT

During Week 6, JAG and Leadership students attended the Catholic Earthcare Youth Summit. This day was hosted by Mount St Benedict College via Zoom and the theme of the day was "From little things, big things grow". The day was focused on empowering students through opportunities for advocacy and action in ecological justice and sustainability.
There were a number of guest speakers including Ann Marie Brennan who is a COP26 representative, Alicja Borciuch from Australian Young Christian Workers, Katarina Kabiriera and Taabeia Ibouri from Sisters of Kiribati and Bishop Long from Parramatta who conducted a beautiful liturgy referring Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si'.
The students were asked to end the day with a pledge. Our St John's group came up with a fantastic pledge.
