YEAR 10 NEWS

What a busy and productive term it has been for Year 10. I am so glad to be back and working with this wonderful group of students again. They have been so welcoming and it feels like I never left. A big thank you to Tammie Castles who was acting Year Coordinator in my absence and is job sharing the position with me for the remainder of the Year. Tammie will be active in the role on Thursdays when I am not at school.

Year 10 are entering into a busy period with many assessment tasks due and a number of excursions coming up. A reminder that for the majority of excursions consent does have to be given by parents through Compass.

SUBJECT SELECTION

This is an important time for students as they begin to make the choices for their course of study for the remainder of their time at St John’s. Students were given a booklet with information on all the courses provided here at St Johns. We encourage them to discuss this with their parents and guardians but do remind them to keep this booklet in their bags as over the next few weeks they will be having discussions from a number of KLA’s in regards to the choices they are about to make. We will be holding an information evening on Thursday 16 June for parents and students and hopefully will be able to answer any questions you have about the process. A reminder for students to take time with their choices as it is not first in best dressed. I look forward to seeing you all at the information evening coming up.
