CAREERS NEWS

TRY A DAY IN CONSTRUCTION

Fusion Training Solution, Wollongong, and Regional Industry Education Partnerships delivered 'Try a day in Construction' to some of our Year 10 students considering a career in the construction industry.

The program consisted of a unit of theory completed at school and then the Fusion workshop where the students had the opportunity to assemble a bird feeder. The students gained a statement of achievement in Plan and Organise Work as well as developing practical skills such as assembling, drilling, countersinking, screwing and sanding.

WHITE CARD CONSTRUCTION COURSE

Twenty students from Years 10-12 attended the Construction Industry Safety Induction (White Card) course held at our school on Wednesday.
We offer this course several times each year as it is a mandatory accreditation for students wishing to work or undertake work experience & placements in the construction industry.

MEDIA 4 MILLENNIALS WORKSHOP - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

A workshop that teaches students how to use social media as a business tool will run for ½ a day at SJE on Friday 17 June. This workshop is great for anyone who enjoys creating content, photography, film, advertising and social media. The face to face workshop is taught by journalist, presenter and educator Stephanie Aceglav. This workshop is offered free to 20 SJE students, through our association with Regional Industry Education Partnerships. Students need to express their interest for this workshop with Mrs Hill.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Students in Years 10 -12 can undertake work experience during the school holidays by completing the student workplace learning record form (4 page document) available from Mrs Hill. Please return the paperwork at least one week prior to the work experience to ensure all insurance conditions are met.
