YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

On Thursday 18 May, Year 10 Students Craig Sutton, Georgia Coleman, Cameron Nelson and Serena McDonald attended the Youth Advisory Committee meeting held at Shoalhaven City Council. Students met with members of Council, and other delegates from various schools and organisations, to discuss topics such as Climate Change and Sustainability for our local and wider community.

MINISTER FOR REGIONAL YOUTH MEETS WITH LOCAL YOUTH

On Tuesday 14 June, the Minister for Regional Youth - The Hon. Ben Franklin, met with local students from various high schools including St John's Youth Advisory Committee representatives, Georgia Coleman and Serena McDonald of Year 10. The Minister announced a funding boost of $20 000 to the Changemaker initiative which promotes positive change for youth and their communities and assists them in developing leadership skills.

BOMADERRY COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL PERFORMANCE

On Wednesday 1 June St John’s Boys’ and Girls’ Indigenous Dance members were invited to perform at the Bomaderry Community Preschool for students, parents and families. Dancers expressed Culture in a variety of performances with the accompaniment of song and Clap Sticks.

SORRY DAY, NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK

On Thursday 26 May students, staff and community members remembered and acknowledged The Stolen Generations at our National Sorry Day Assembly.
