YEAR 9 NEWS

REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE

Year 9 Bushcraft Monday 15 August 8:30am - 2:45pm

As part of the Year 9 Bushcraft course the students learn how to navigate and work as a team. As a culmination of these skills we will be running a Rogaine (orienteering) challenge. In teams of 6, students will navigate their way around bushland south of Nowra competing to gain the most points by finding orienteering markers.

We are seeking parent volunteers to assist on the day. If you are able to help, please contact info@sjedow.catholic.edu.au or 4423 1666.

100 HOUR SUBJECT SELECTIONS FOR Year 10 2023

Students will be electing 3 subjects for the Year 10, 100 hour course. One of these subjects will replace the short course that students are currently undertaking in Year 9. This course will appear on the ROSA.

The course will give students the opportunity to pursue an area of interest. It is important that students choose a course that they are interested in, not what their friends are doing.

Unfortunately, not all courses that are offered will run. It is important for students to select what they wish to study in Year 10.

These selections close on Monday 1 August.

YEAR 9 & 10 COMMERCE MARKET DAY STALL

This week our Year 9 and 10 Commerce students engaged in a Market Day program, with students having the opportunity to apply the content learned in their ‘Running a Business’’ topic into the practical task of running a business. Students gained exposure to the four key business functions – Marketing, Operations, Employment Relations and Finance.

Groups sold a variety of products and will be donating a percentage of the profits to Vinnies.
