YEAR 8 EMPOWERMENT DAY
On Thursday 18 August Year 8 students participated in Day 1 of Empowerment Day both offsite at the Scout Hall and West Street Oval at Nowra and onsite at school. For this day the girls were at school and the boys travelled offsite. The feedback from parents and students was outstanding.
The intention of these days was to focus on:
- Belonging & Connection
- Right & Respectful Relationships
- Focus on SJE School Values
Students came with an open mind and flexibility in their attitudes. They were positive when given opportunity to consider what’s possible in addition to their own values.
Off site activities conducted were:
- Sports Activities emphasising teamwork and focus - Mr Whatling
- Team Building / Initiative Games - Mr Vaughan
- Right and Respectful Relationships - Mr Gould
- Bushwalk/Indigenous Perspective - Mr Higgins
On site activities at school:
- Box ‘N’ Breathe - Mr Leishman
- Blast from the Past - Miss Swan
