Our Year 11 Construction students have been preparing the Walawaani (Welcome) garden at the front of our school for the installation of two new totem poles painted by local Indigenous artist Aunty Kerry Williams.





Aunty Kerry and our students were consulted on ideas for the designs and we are thrilled with the results!





OUTSTANDING PBL BY YEAR 8
A fabulous Geography PBL project by Year 8 students Madison, Anya & Jasmyn creating a campaign to raise awareness of child exploitation in the fashion industry!

SUMMER SOCCER CHAMPIONS
On the weekend of November 19 and 20, Year 11 students Kate Drinkwalter and Isabella McConville, Beth Tomlinson and St John's Graduate Zoe Anderson, with a few members of the South East Phoenix Senior Football Squad, competed over 2 days in the Summer 7's Soccer Competition, held in Gerringong.
They advanced through the qualifying rounds on Saturday and again on Sunday morning. They were tied 1-1 at Full-time and moved to extra time and a Penalty Shoot out in the Semi Final, after their Goal Keeper was injured with a fractured eye socket. They won the Penalty shoot out by 2 goals and competed in the Grand Final against Kiama for the Competition Prize Money.
Contending with tough competition and massive gale force winds, their team "The Honey Badgers" won 2 - 0 to take out the Women's Tournament!!! Congratulations Girls - what an awesome result! Champions!!
LUKE PLACES SECOND IN AUSTRALIA!
Congratulations to Luke Fernie of Year 7, bringing home a Silver Medal from the Australian Taekwondo Championships in Bendigo Victoria.

OUR DANCERS ARE THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY!
Recently 5 of our students represented at the Australian Physie and Dance (APTA) National Championships with some outstanding results!
Congratulations to Summer Mead (Year 11), Clancy Whelan (Year 11), Tayla Wells (Year 10), Charlee Baldacchino (Year 9) and Brooke Hitchcock (Year 8).
AUSTRALIAN CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our Week 8 newsletter celebrated the success of Heidi Lovell(Year 7) and Scarlett Mahoney(Year 11) who achieved a Bronze medal at the Australian Cheerleading Championships at the Gold Coast.
We have also received news of two more of our amazing students bringing home a bronze medal from these championships!
Year 12 student Kayla Chapman, along with her 'Team XForce' and supported by Kalani Gibson-Davis of Year 8, achieved a Bronze medal in the all abilities category.

SIENNA CONTINUES STRIKING GOALS
Congratulations to Sienna Clarke of Year 11, named as Illawarra Academy of Sport's Captain of Golf for 2022/23. In addition to this great honour, Sienna added more Golf Titles to her long list of accolades, winning the St Michael's Womens Golf Club Champion for 2022, a three day tournament.
Sienna is also thrilled to be the overall girls winner of the Jack Newton Junior Golf Blue Mountains Masters Championship held at Wentworth Falls Country Club. After the first day of the two-day tournament Sienna had a score of three over par and was coming second, 8 shots behind the leader. On the final day, Sienna finished with 4 under par to win the tournament with an overall score of one under par, an amazing achievement and best score yet in one day for her!

YEAR 8 GEOGRAPHY GLOBAL FOOD FAIR
