LOGO COMPETITION

The Illawarra Mercury in conjunction with Cycling Australia and Destination Wollongong are running the 'Take Wollongong to the World' Logo Competition - an opportunity to design the official logo for the 2022 UCI Road World Cycling Championships (one of the biggest sporting events in the world) to be held in Wollongong.
The overall prize for the winning entry is valued at over $20,000 (which is open to all), but there is also a specific schools prize, which involves Cycling Australia bringing international cyclists to the school to conduct a skills clinic for your students for the day. (Please note: The competition is based on a Wollongong event but is open to ALL students in the Diocese).

If possible, I'd love to be able to organise a media story for a school out of this to showcase some of the great imagination, creativity and talent (and support for art) in our schools... so if any teachers do want to take up this opportunity as a class (and for example, do an art class spent on designing the logo or experimenting with ideas) or you have a couple of talented students who will jump on this opportunity that we can do a story on to feature them, please let me know as soon as possible and we can look into organising some possible media coverage this term. The competitin closes on June 28.
