DIOCESAN SOCCER GALA DAY - JUNIOR & INTERMEDIATE BOYS

The 7-10 Pathway boys played in the Diosecan Football game in Campbelltown on Friday. Under 13's had a tough game to start with but were able to get a win for game two.  They fought really hard in all their games coming away with a 1-0 win in the playoffs to come 7th overall.

The Intermediate Boy's from team displayed exceptional football and the boys certainly were able to hold their heads high. Our first game ended in a nil-all draw against Edmund Rice with some outstanding plays from Isac Norton and George Hyam keeping a clean sheet. Our second game was a 2-0 victory against St Josephs with Tom Rutkowski scoring a brace with some fine play out wide from both Jonathon Martinez and Beau Lynch. Next up was our first loss against the grand finalists, Holy Spirit. It was a tough loss with sensational goals from our opposition and impressive performances from our own Hugh Duff, Alonso Garcia, and Luciano Garcia. Needing a win, we played our best football of the day against Corpus Christi, however, the goal-scoring touch had deserted us, but it was not without some fine performances from James Winchester, Jackson Hill, and Arlyn Duffy. This meant we had slipped down the pool in our points and had our final game against St Benedicts was a close affair with our player of the day Denzel Atkinson leading from the front and Nicholas Rayes and Joquain Knott within minutes of their 4th clean sheet of the day, conceding a penalty and the game. The boys were gallant all day in their performances and should be proud of how they played each of their games throughout the day. Boys came 8th in the end with 1 win, 2 draws, 2 losses.

Both teams put together some great performances however the results of the day did not reflect how well both teams played and had a lot of fun. A big thank you to Nathan and Lucas for their umpiring for the under 13's team.
