YEAR 11 NEWS

As Year 11 enters their final term of preliminary studies I want to congratulate them on the positive way they have approached their first semester of Year 11. Their uniform and behaviour is always of a high standard and their significant involvement in the school community was evident when reading their reports and seeing their PALS comments.

HARRY LUDMAN

Harry Ludman has been selected in the Rauland Development Cycling team to represent Australia at the U19 UCI Nations Cup Tour of the DMZ, South Korea from 26 August - 8 September 2023. This is a great opportunity for Harry to race as a member of the only Australian Team invited to attend and race against some of the best national cycling teams in the world.

Congratulations and good luck!

VISUAL ART

It was amazing to see the drawings by the Year 11 Art class. Students have been working hard and showing off their creativity.

UOW FUTURE ME DAY

The whole of Year 11 were able to participate in the half day program run by the University of Wollongong. It gave students the opportunity to engage with university students and begin thinking about the different options that are available to them at the end of Year 12.

MODERN HISTORY

Students have been learning about the Decline and Fall of the Romanovs. They recently studied biographies of key figures involved in the Russian Revolution and participated in a game of Revolutionary Heads. After they completed a source study looking into the events of Bloody Sunday forming their own conclusions on the cause of the event.

EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

Students completed a mandatory field study. In undertaking this field trip students will engage in authentic geological and environmental studies investigating the geological history and anthropogenic impacts in the Kiama region.

I look forward to seeing more amazing things from Year 11 next term.
