In week 1 of this term all of Year 9 students participated in an activity designed to build and reinforce basic numeracy skills.

The activity involved:

(1) planning to make chocolate snowballs         

(2) making the snow balls 

(3) designing and making a box to safely hold 4 of the snowballs.

The activity went over 3 consecutive periods with students rotating through each of the activities. At the end of the process they had a gift box of chocolate snowballs.

Anecdotal feedback from the students was very positive with students saying they both enjoyed and learned from the activity

Term 3 Exams

During this term the following summative examinations will take place

• Year 12 Trial HSC exams in Week 4
• Year 11 can start preparing for their exams starting in Week 8
• Years 7 and 8 will have an exam based on their own individual progress through Maths Pathway later in the term, probably around Week 8 or 9.
