YEAR 12 NEWS
It is difficult to grasp the prospect of Year 12 finishing high school. This week has been not only very emotional for many but also one of excitement and celebration. Having had a conversation with the students there is a feeling of mixed emotions. The apprehension of moving away from the security of the familiar life of school into an unknown future can be daunting for some. For others however, the thought of leaving school brings relief and eagerness.
It is important at this time to express my appreciation to the students for their support and expressions of gratitude to not only myself but to all their teachers and support staff. Monday was a terrific day where teachers & students enjoyed the Crazy Photo activity. All the students looked incredible in their many and varied costumes and clearly showed their appreciation and gratitude to the staff.
Breakfast on Tuesday was a special time where the students and staff had the opportunity to spend time together before they embarked on preparing for the graduation ceremonies. I noted in my speech on Wednesday that “it takes a community to raise a child” and I truly believe that the St John’s community has played an integral role in the educational, emotional and spiritual growth of each and every Year 12 student.

Thank you again to the parents and carers for your support over the past six years. I will be forever grateful for the way you have worked side by side with the school to ensure your children have the best possible outcome from their high school experience.
I wish all students every success for their HSC exams next term and encourage you to stay in contact with your teachers during the next couple of months. The support of your teachers continues as you prepare for your exams.
I know everyone is looking forward to the Graduation Dinner on 8 November which will be our final celebration of this very special group of students.
Year 12 please always remember that God has no hands but yours as you embark on the next chapter of your lives.
Thank you all and God Bless.
