MATHS 'Pi DAY'
Pi Day was celebrated on March 14th. There was a special presentation at the school assembly where a competition was announced. There were 4 competitors and many supporters in the foyer of B-block to witness the exciting event.
Competitors were required to write pi on a white board to as many decimal places as possible. The rules of the competition were for the longest, error free, string of digits from the start of the number.
The competitors were Amelie Wells, Rachael Martinez, Silas Cox, and Riley McIntyre. Rachael wrote about 300 digits but made 3 errors the first being the 43rd digit. Unfortunately for Rachel, both Silas and Riley wrote a longer correct initial string of 65 and 53 respectfully. These 3 all agreed to share the prize. Congratulations to all involved and thanks to the supporters who came to support their friends.
