    WELCOME BACK TO TERM 2

    A big welcome back to students and parents for a busy and exciting Term 2. I hope everyone is rested from a well deserved break and are ready to enrich themselves with learning.

    Now is the perfect time for students to reflect on the way they worked in Term 1, whether it be in the classroom or on the playground. Some questions students could ask themselves or parents/carers could assist students to reflect, include:

    1. What are three things that really worked well for me?
    2. What are two things that didn’t work well for me?
    3. What steps could I take to turn those two things around?
    4. Who are the people that could help me with this?
    5. How and when will I know if I am successful?

    UPCOMING SCHOOL EVENT: FOUNDATION DAY

    Foundation Day is the important celebration of the commemoration of our school and will be held on Friday 24 May 2024 (Week 4, Term 2). Students and Staff will begin the day with mass and then engage in a range of fun activities for the remainder of the day. Food will be available to purchase from a variety of food stalls and we encourage students to bring cash on the day to purchase tickets for food and activities. The day will finish with a Showcase of some of the wonderfully talented St John’s students performing for the community. Here are some details for you to be aware of regarding this day:

    • It is a compulsory school day (students who arrive after mass will not be allowed to participate in the activities part of the day)
    • Students must arrive at school at regular time and in full winter uniform
    • Students can bring a change of clothes for after mass (appropriate, warm clothing)
    • Students will be expected to comply with normal school expectations regarding behaviour throughout the day
    • Students will NOT be required to bring their devices to school for Foundation Day
    • Students can purchase 2x strips of tickets for the food and activities during morning PaLS ($5 per strip, 10 tickets per strip). Opportunity to purchase more tickets will be available throughout the day.

    ST JOHN'S SPORT SHOE GUIDELINES UPDATED

    Commencing this week St John's sport shoe guidelines have been updated.
    Sport shoes can now be predominantly white OR predominantly black appropriate lace-up runners or cross training sport shoes with adequate arch support.
    All students are still NOT permitted to wear canvas, surf, skate, slip-on or high-top shoes. Sport shoes are also NOT to be coloured including fluorescent or fluorescent accents.
