YEAR 11 NEWS
What a busy and productive first term Year 11 have had thus far. Settling into their preliminary year has been a challenge all of Year 11 have embraced and we are so proud of the mature and positive approach they have taken.
Year 11 have been set a goal this year to participate in as many extra curricular activities and social justice initiatives as possible throughout the year in order to add to their Senior Passports. These passports are vital for students seeking leadership opportunities and for the school as they write their references at the end of the HSC year. St Johns the Evangelist High School has an incredible range of extra curricular activities available. A list of just a few of these extra curricular activities are included below to help our Year 11’s think about planning out their year.
COMMUNITY AND LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
OPEN NIGHT
It was so incredibly pleasing to see the amount of students who signed up to volunteer as tour guides for our Open Night. The students represented the school proudly and were integral in the smooth running of the night.
YEAR 11 PALS TEAM 2025
Year 11 has welcomed some new and also familiar staff faces for the PALS team for 2025. We are very fortunate to have a great range of knowledgeable and experienced staff who will be supporting students this year. Students have already engaged in a positive way with their growth conversions and mentors so early in the year.
Benedict - Rachael McKay and Joshua Muvceski
Chisholm - Kathy Woodall and Ellen Gray
Mackillop - Catherine Chittick and Lauren Gilbert
McCabe - Simon Vaughan, Samantha Standen and Joshua Muvceski
Polding - Philip Gould and Kristy Clarke
Purcell - Marcia Arenas and Nichole Crossley
UNIFORM
Whilst the year group as a whole is making every effort to ensure that the uniform expectations are met each day, there are still a small percentage that are choosing not to adhere to the St John’s guidelines around the wearing of jewellery, correct school and/or sport shoes, skirt length, hair styles and facial hair. PALS teachers will be issuing consequences for any student not meeting the school’s expectations. This also means jewellery will be confiscated until the end of term.
YOUTH MINISTRY LEADERS
The Year 11 Youth Ministry Leaders have had a busy start to the year with their involvement in the Ash Wednesday Liturgies. These students have taken on this significant leadership role with respect and dignity and are now preparing for their next event.

All students should now have received the St John’s 2025 Preliminary HSC Assessment Calendar for 2025. Students may ask their PALS teachers or the curriculum office for a copy of the calendar if theirs has been misplaced. It is vital that students keep track of key assessment dates and deadlines as they progress this year.
