ONLINE FORM - EXTENDED ABSENCE

A new online Notification of Extended Absence form has been created for parents to use for extended absences (absence greater than five school days). This user-friendly form simplifies the process for parents, eliminating the need for printing or downloading documents. Now, parents can conveniently complete the application entirely online.

Accessing the application form is now easier than ever with the form working on both mobile and desktop platforms. Parents can complete the application electronically and can also send the application for multiple students across CEDoW schools.

ACCEPTANCE AND NON-ACCEPTANCE OF THE EXTENDED ABSENCE

The principal will make a decision regarding the Extended Absence application based upon the reasons for the absence and the impact of the absence on the student’s learning. Parents will receive an Acknowledgement of the Extended Absence and a determination by the principal of acceptance or non-acceptance. If a parent wishes their child to undertake an extended absence for the purposes of travel they must provide documentation indicating the intended dates and locations of travel. Additionally, the parent must indicate on the form the purpose of the travel and the circumstances that make it necessary for the travel to be undertaken outside the school holiday period. The principal will only accept travel absences for exceptional circumstances.
