PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
WISHING A PEACEFUL AND HOPEFUL EASTER
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the close of Term 1, I want to extend heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your support, encouragement, and partnership throughout a busy and exciting start to the year. It has been a joy to witness the growth, curiosity, and resilience of our students as they’ve embraced new challenges and experiences.
Your support, encouragement, and partnership were clearly demonstrated by the way our community came together during the Parent Student Teacher Conferences in Week 11. The atmosphere on Thursday night was overwhelmingly positive and forward focused with staff, students and parents coming together with a common goal of learning growth. Thursday night saw an uptake of 1473 bookings while Friday followed closely behind with 646 for 942 students - what a truly amazing partnership!
As we now step into the Easter season — a time of hope, renewal, and reflection — we are reminded of the powerful message of love, hope and new beginnings found in the resurrection of Christ.
“The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent down to look in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed.”
John 20:3–9 (NRSV)
This verse from the Gospel of John encourages us to look forward with faith and joy, believing that every aspect of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection provides us with the hope that things can and will be better - that our lives have purpose and meaning and living a St John’s life of reverent spirituality, hospitality, compassion, love, justice and hope will ensure that we will always have life in abundance.
May this Easter bring peace to your hearts and homes, and may the holiday be filled with rest, family connection, and the true joy of the season.
We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready for the next chapter of learning and growth in Term 2. Until then, may God bless you and your families this Easter and always.
Kind Regards
James Eirth
