RECENT EVENTS

Be a Cop in Your Hometown - Police Visit

Students from Years 10, 11, and 12 had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a recent visit from the NSW Police as part of the Be a Cop in Your Hometown initiative, alongside representatives from the IPROWD TAFE program.

The session was packed with valuable insights into the many pathways available within the police force, covering both sworn and civilian roles. Students enjoyed interacting with serving officers and exploring a police vehicle, gaining a real sense of the variety and scope of work within NSW Police.

Clear information was provided about the steps to join, and the visit sparked lots of interest among students keen to make a difference in their communities. We’re already looking forward to welcoming the team back in Term 3 for another inspiring visit!

White Card Training Success !

Congratulations to the 20 students who successfully completed their White Card training with Coastal OHS Services! The students showed great engagement throughout the day, participating in hands-on activities and discussions to earn their accreditation. This important qualification allows them to work safely on construction sites – a valuable step for those considering careers in the building and trades industries.

Year 10 Work Experience

Dates: Term 2, Week 10, June 30-July 4

In Term 2, Week 10, all Year 10 students will have the opportunity to participate in the work experience program. This is a valuable chance for students to delve deeper into a field of their interest, gaining a first-hand understanding of the roles within it. Such immersion can prove immensely beneficial as it allows individuals to discern whether their chosen industry aligns with their aspirations.

To facilitate this process, I encourage parents, guardians/carers, and students to refer to the Careers Google Classroom for guidance on how to approach potential employers. For your convenience, I have included all necessary documentation as attachments, streamlining the entire process.

Student Placement Records (SPR) are due to the Careers Office on Friday, 9 May

If you have any questions, please contact Ms Arenas on 4423 1666
