AMAZING AMBASSADOR

Thank you to Year 11 student Jiah King who represented St John’s beautifully at the HMAS Albatross NAIDOC celebrations on Thursday 11 July. Jiah is a wonderful ambassador for St John's and his Aboriginal community and did an amazing job performing with the Defence force Indigenous dance troupe.
SHOALHAVEN NAIDOC CELEBRATION
Jiah King and Wil Osgood are to be commended following their participation in several performances at the 2019 Shoalhaven NAIDOC Celebration. The boys were involved with the Elders' Choir, flag raising ceremony and an amazing session at the end of the day with just Jiah and Wil.
NURSING HOME PERFORMANCE

We are proud of our Aboriginal dance troupe who performed at Greenwell Gardens Retirement home on Tuesday 23 July. It was wonderful seeing the residents and students interacting and enjoying the day.
INDIGENOUS AFL YOUTH LEADERSHIP CAMP
"During 19 -21 July, Riley, Elly and I attended an Indigenous AFL Youth Leadership Camp.
This camp was held in Homebush and was aimed at young women aged 15 years and under.
Luckily we were selected after applying and got to experience what a professional athlete's routine is like.
We fortunately got to meet some Giants players, men and women and got coached by some as well.
Delma Gisu was one of the Giants players we met, she mentored us the whole weekend and told her inspirational story of how she was one of the first Indigenous women AFL players to be drafted.
We also got coached by Haneen Zreika, she was truly inspirational and guided us through the weekend teaching us new skills and techniques along the way.
It was so much fun and we can't wait to use the skills we learnt in our games with the Bomaderry Tigers".
