RECENT EVENTS
Charles Sturt University and The University of Sydney - Outreach
On May 8 and May 14, a group of motivated Year 11 and 12 students took the initiative to attend lunchtime outreach sessions with representatives from the University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University. These informative sessions provided valuable insights into a range of tertiary pathways and highlighted the importance of early preparation for life after school.
Students explored available courses, university prerequisites, and the role of assumed knowledge. They also gained an understanding of bridging programs designed to support learning and close knowledge gaps, especially useful for those coming from regional or rural backgrounds.
A key focus was the comprehensive support offered by both universities, including scholarships and tailored resources for students from diverse backgrounds. University ambassadors spoke candidly about student life, study load, and the many opportunities to work and grow while studying.
The sessions also touched on new course offerings, labour market trends, and future career prospects, providing students with a realistic and inspiring view of what lies ahead.
Both the University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University are globally ranked institutions, and our students walked away feeling informed, encouraged, and excited about their future. With all questions answered and plenty of support on offer, the future is indeed looking bright.
White Card Training Success!
Congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 students who successfully completed their White Card training this term. This certification is essential for those considering work experience or future employment in the construction industry.
Students approached the training with maturity and enthusiasm, demonstrating high levels of respect, teamwork, and engagement throughout the day. It was particularly encouraging to see students supporting one another and actively participating in safety discussions and practical activities.
If any Year 10 students still require their White Card, please see Ms Arenas to organise training.
Well done to all involved!
