DEFENCE CLUB MEETING YEARS 8 & 9 -  MONDAY 26 MAY

Ms Lawrence will be holding a Defence Club meeting for Years 8 and 9 Defence students at the Cafe during first half of lunch on Monday 26 May.

Come along for a bite to eat and a catch up with your fellow Defence students.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

Scholarships: Apply Aug 18 - Oct 31 (see Application Guide). AVCAT offers Long Tan Bursaries (Vietnam Veteran descendants, govt-funded, 37 yearly) and sponsored scholarships (ex-service descendants, various funding). $ 4- 6k year for up to 3 years (tertiary). 

Competitive, limited; results late Feb-Mar.

To be eligible, applicants generally must:

• Be an Australian resident.
• Be enrolled or planning to enrol full-time in a recognised Australian tertiary course for at least one academic year (priority to those without prior tertiary education).
• Be a child or grandchild of an Australian ex-serving veteran with qualifying operational or continuous full-time service.
• Children include adopted children, ex-nuptial children, stepchildren and foster children. Stepchildren and foster children must have resided with, or been financially supported by, their veteran stepparent or foster parent for 5 of the last 10 years. Grandchildren are defined as the children of one's son or daughter. Step-grandchildren and foster grandchildren must have resided with or been financially supported by a person who is a child of a veteran for 5 of the last 10 years.
