CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF FAITH, COMMUNITY, AND EXCELLENCE AT ST JOHN'S

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week marked a truly special milestone in the life of our school community as we gathered as a community to celebrate the 2025 St John The Evangelist Catholic High School Foundation Day. This day is an extremely important day as it provides us with the time to reflect on who we are and all that we have become as a Catholic School Community in our short 35 years.

Our Foundation Day began with a beautiful liturgy, thoughtfully prepared by Mr. Commensoli and his dedicated team. The reverence and spiritual presence shown by our students was nothing short of exceptional. It was a powerful reminder of the deep faith that grounds our community and the values that guide us in our daily lives; Hope, Love, Reverent Spirituality, Hospitality, Justice and Compassion.

A highlight of the morning was the recitation of the student house pledges, a cherished tradition that provides students the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to our shared mission and identity. It was a moving moment that underscored the strength of our community—where every individual is valued for who they are and the unique gifts they bring.

We were also honored to welcome back Mr. Marshall, our former Principal, who shared heartfelt words as he formally farewelled our student body. His leadership has left an indelible mark on St John’s, and we are forever grateful for his vision, dedication, and unwavering belief in our students. Mr. Marshall will always be a cherished part of the St John’s family.

The celebrations continued with a student-led fair that brought joy and laughter to all. From exciting games to delicious food stalls, the energy was infectious. One of the highlights? Watching our current Principal take a good-natured dunk in the dunk tank—much to the delight of students and staff alike!

We closed the day with a showcase of talent and fun with our staff bravely (and hilariously) taking to the stage to show off their “not-so-amazing” talents in the Masked Singer 2025: SJE Edition. As always, our students wowed us with their creativity and performance skills. It was a joyful, laughter-filled finale that perfectly captured the spirit of our school.

As we look back on 35 years, we give thanks for the journey so far and look forward with hope and excitement to the future. Here’s to continuing to grow together in faith, learning, and community.

Happy Foundation Day, St John’s!

Warm regards

James Eirth
