YEAR 7 MORTEN ELLERINGTON
Morten Ellerington of St John's and Joshua Astin-Briggs joined Victory Runners Macca Davis and William Heffill in the Under 14 boy's 4 x 2km relay. Together they took the silver medal in a time of 30.46.
Terrific running boys and great to join forces with another south coast club to build a successful team.
YEAR 9 SOPHIA GILBERT
Congratulations to Sophia Gilbert of Year 9 as a winner of the Young Dobell 2025 Art Competition for her wonderful landscape painting.
YEAR 8 PRAYER MUSIC COMPOSITION
A group of year 8 students worked with singer/songwriter Tim Hart from the CEO in composing music for the Year 8 Prayer. Tim led the students in analysing the natural rhythm of the prayer words, creating a chord structure, composing the melody and finally adding instrument and vocal harmony parts. Later in the term Tim will be back to assist students in recording all the vocal and instrument parts.
DUKE OF EDINBURGH PRACTICE JOURNEY
Last week, Thursday 29 - Friday 30 May sixteen Duke of Ed students undertook the practice journey component of their Adventurous Journey. We headed out into Morton National Park and climbed up and over three mountains before heading down to Yalwal Creek and crossing it to our campsite for the night. It was a chilly and foggy 3℃ in the morning but it quickly warmed up once the sun broke through and we headed back across the river and took a much less strenuous route back to our pick up point.
