Dear Parents and Carers, 

While we are coming to the end of Term 2, there are still exciting times ahead as we continue to support our students across various year groups in making important subject selections for 2026. This is a pivotal moment in their learning journey, and we are proud of the thoughtful and mature way our students are engaging in the process.

YEAR 10 2025 SUBJECT SELECTION INFORMATION NIGHT

A special thank you goes to our Year 10 students and their families for their outstanding participation in the recent Subject Selection Information Night. Led by Year 10 Leader of Wellbeing Mrs Isemonger and Leader of Learning 9-12 Mrs Akai, the night was extremely informative, further strengthening the relationships between staff, students and parents in the next phase of their educational journey. The turnout was fantastic and the level of engagement during the Key Learning Area presentations being delivered continues to be exceptional. Staff have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, noting the insightful questions and genuine interest shown by our students. A great start Year 10!

YEAR 8 2025 SUBJECT SELECTION INFORMATION NIGHT

In addition, on Thursday, 19th June, our current Year 8 students took their first steps toward shaping their academic future. Under the guidance of Year Coordinator Mrs Abbey Simis and Leader of Learning 9–12 Mrs Nicole Akai, students and families came together for an important Information Night. This event will help students begin thinking about their elective choices for Years 9 and 10 and broaden their educational experiences as they move toward further study. 

As always, we encourage all students to choose subjects that not only spark their passion and curiosity but also challenge them to grow as learners. At SJE, we believe that when we have the Right Students in the Right Courses, we achieve the Right Outcomes for everyone involved.

EXCITING NEWS

In other exciting news, we are thrilled to announce that we are nearing the next phase of our school building plan. This phase includes the development of a new outdoor undercover area, which will be located adjacent to the SJE Fitness Hub. This space will provide much-needed shelter from the elements and serve as a dynamic environment for our VET Fitness students, who will use the area to run outdoor workshops and refine their practical skills. It’s another step forward in creating a learning environment that supports both academic and vocational excellence!
