On Tuesday 17th June 2025, Kilarni Aldridge, Laycee Bannon Harrison and Sienna Alcock attended the Shoalhaven City Council Youth Advisory Committee Meeting which was held at the Council Chambers.
Discussion was held on affordable housing and disability initiatives and afterwards we were taken on a tour of the Council Chambers.
It was a very eye opening experience to see how our local council operates and conducts consultation. We are looking forward to the next meeting.

YEAR 10 MARINE STUDIES - FISHING AT GREENWELL POINT

On Thursday 5 June Year 10 Marine studies travelled to Greenwell Point to practice their skills as part of the fishing unit.
The students were reel-y excited to go fishing! With such a beautiful day, the students were keepin’ it reel.
    Thanks year 10, you’re o-fish-ally awesome!

YEAR 10 MARINE STUDIES - FISHING AT CROOKHAVEN HEADS

On Thursday 19 June Year 10 Marine Studies students went from classroom to casting and proved they’re hooked on more than just assessment tasks!

“Is it still science if we just talk to the fish?”
“This rod’s got more tension than my last exam…”

Plenty of laughs, tangled lines, and tales of the one that got away.
They came, they saw, they cast — and maybe even caught a fish or two!

St John's was proudly represented by Jazz Annan, Aysha McGowan, Eleanor Boyton, Aela Stephenson and Isabel Gonzaga at the South Coast Public Speaking Competition at Holy Spirit College on Tuesday evening, 17th June 2025.

All students spoke very well and were supported by amazing parents.
Congratulations to Eleanor Boyton who placed 1st in her Year 8 group and Isabel Gonzaga who placed 2nd in her Year 9 group.

The speakers came from 14 schools from the Illawarra, Campbeltown, Southern Highlands and the Shoalhaven. Our students did extremely well against exceptionally talented public speakers from top schools in the region.
