NEWS FROM TAS

YEAR 11 INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

Yr 11 Industrial Technology have been working on developing their workshop skills in preparation for their HSC MajorWork which effectively starts in just over a term.

Throughout the last semester the class has constructed a series of small projects with each project specifically focusing on particular workshop skills and/or tool and equipment use, Such as safe and effective use of the Bandsaw, Drop Saw and Router to name a few.

Projects this semester include: Hand Held Puzzle, Inspirational Quote Frame, Trinket Box and either a Wall Mounted Home Organiser or Cabinet, again each with a variety of Joints or Processes carried out.

YEAR 12 INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

Students are working towards finishing their Major projects due in August. You can see the skill development from Year 11 photos to Year 12. There are a range of projects including a chess board, coffee table, sideboard, chest of drawers, writing desk, tv cabinet. 

DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY

Similarly to INT Design and Technology students are working towards their Major projects including the project and folio. Students are coming up with solutions to a problem or need. A diverse range of projects such as a wind turbine generating power, a magnetic tool shelf, a temperature sensing drink coaster, a timeless reversible costume and redesigning our inclusive MC classroom.

AGRICULTURE

Students  are currently focusing on emerging technologies transforming modern agriculture. Students are investigating innovations such as robotics, satellite and computer technologies, and biotechnologies, while critically examining the ethical, legal, and environmental implications of their adoption.
