PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Parents and Carers,
As Term 2 draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared over the first half of the year. It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown, and yet, in that time, we’ve seen remarkable growth, dedication, and collaboration across our school community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our staff, families, and students for their unwavering commitment and hard work. Your efforts have been instrumental in shaping a vibrant learning culture that truly reflects our school’s vision and mission—promoting the growth of the whole person and being uniquely responsive to the needs of the Shoalhaven and surrounding regions, while valuing both peace and excellence in learning.
Throughout the term, we’ve witnessed inspiring examples of staff working closely with students and families to enhance engagement and foster a culture of learning that celebrates progress and perseverance. While not every student may achieve an A or a Band 6, every student can grow, and that growth is worth celebrating.
This was beautifully demonstrated in Week 9, when a significant number of our Year 9 and 10 students were recognised for their achievement and diligence, followed by our Year 7 and 8 students in Week 10. The joy and pride on their faces as they received their awards reminded us all of the profound impact education has—not just academically, but in building confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

As we look ahead to Term 3, we hold our Year 12 students in our thoughts and prayers as they prepare for their HSC Trials in Week 3. This is a time of deep study and reflection, and we are incredibly grateful to the dedicated teachers who are supporting them through holiday workshops—a true testament to the strength of our learning partnerships.
On a final note, I would like to sincerely thank all of the staff, students, and families for your kind words and best wishes following my appointment as Principal of St John the Evangelist Catholic High School. I am eternally grateful to have worked so closely with both Mr Wayne Marshall and Mrs Sandra Hogan, and I share their deep and passionate commitment to ensuring that our students and families receive the best possible educational experience and opportunities.
I am truly honoured to have been entrusted with this substantial role, and I will do my very best to support our community as we move forward together into a very, very bright future.
Thank you once again to everyone who has contributed to making Term 2 such a success. We wish all families a safe and restful break and look forward to continuing our journey together in Term 3.
Warm regards
Acting Principal
