PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Parents and Carers,
Today Friday 15th August, we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, a deeply significant event in the Christian calendar. This holy day commemorates the moment when the Virgin Mary was assumed body and soul into heaven, marking the end of her earthly life and her entrance into eternal glory.
Often referred to as Mary’s “heavenly birthday,” the Assumption reminds us of the hope and promise of new life, and the importance of faith, grace, and devotion.
As we reflect on Mary’s journey and her unwavering commitment to God, we are reminded of the strength and resilience within our own community—especially our Year 12 students, who are nearing the completion of their HSC Trial Examinations.
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. The feedback from our supervising staff has been overwhelmingly positive, praising not only the students’ conduct but also their dedication, focus, and the wholehearted effort they brought to every exam. Their commitment is a true reflection of the values we hold dear.
In the coming weeks, students will begin receiving their results. As with any significant milestone, there will be a range of emotions—joy, relief, disappointment, and everything in between. It’s important that we, as a school and as families, stand beside our young people, offering encouragement, perspective, and support.
It may sound unusual coming from a high school principal, but achievement is not the ultimate goal. Growth is. If we can celebrate the progress our students have made—no matter where they started or where they are now—then we are truly nurturing lifelong learners.
Let us also remind our students that completing the Trials marks the end of their internal assessments, but not the end of their journey. There is still valuable time ahead to reflect, refine, and grow before the final HSC Examinations. This is often the period where students take feedback to heart and make remarkable strides toward their potential.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated HSC teachers and support staff. Your tireless efforts, detailed feedback, and unwavering belief in our students make all the difference.
As we honour Mary’s Assumption today, may we also honour the journey of every student in our care, the dedicated staff beside them and the loving families behind them.
Warm regards
Acting Principal
