PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Parents and Carers,
YEAR 12 ABORIGINAL GRADUATION DINNER – A NIGHT OF PRIDE AND CONNECTION
On a heartfelt evening at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, we gathered to honour the achievements of our Year 12 Aboriginal students as they celebrated the completion of their HSC journey. Surrounded by family, friends, and community, the night was a powerful tribute to resilience, culture, and success.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our cherished Aunties and Uncles from Gooroon: Aunty Chris, Aunty Jo, Aunty Katelyn, Aunty Deb, Aunty Lizzie, Uncle Archie, and Uncle Sean. Their unwavering commitment to education and the cultural wisdom they share enrich our school community beyond measure. A special thank you also to our Gooroon coordinator, Mrs Ramognini, whose leadership continues to inspire.
A thank you to Mrs Blades and Year 12 Coordinator Mr Garner who joined us in celebrating this milestone, reflecting the strong support and pride our staff hold for our Indigenous students.
YEAR 12 LEADERS LUNCH WITH BISHOP BRIAN MASCORD
In another moment of celebration, our 2025 School Captains and Vice Captains attended a special leadership lunch and Mass with Bishop Brian Mascord and CEDoW Director Peter Hill. This gathering was a beautiful recognition of the outstanding leadership shown by students across our school communities. The Bishop’s message of service, compassion, and courage resonated deeply with our young leaders as they continue to guide and inspire their peers.
YEAR 11 PRELIMINARY EXAMS – STEPPING UP WITH STRENGTH
Our Year 11 students have recently completed their Preliminary exams, marking their final assessments before stepping into their roles as the Year 12 cohort of 2026. This transition is a significant moment, and our students have embraced it with maturity, focus, and determination.
Following in the footsteps of those before them, they continue to grow not only as learners but as individuals. Their commitment to personal and academic development sets a strong foundation for the year ahead, and we are proud of the way they have risen to the challenge.
PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT WITH PAUL DILLON: EMPOWERING FAMILIES ON DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS
On Thursday and Friday, our school community had the privilege of welcoming Paul Dillon, a leading expert in drug and alcohol education, for an engaging and informative Parent Information Night. Paul shared his extensive knowledge with both parents and students, offering practical advice and evidence-based insights into the challenges young people face regarding substance use.
Thursday evening was a valuable opportunity for families to learn how to navigate conversations around drugs and alcohol with confidence and clarity. Paul’s presentation covered current trends, the impact of substances on adolescent development, and strategies for fostering resilience and informed decision-making.
Parents appreciated the honest, relatable approach Paul brought to the discussion, and students walked away from his presentations on Friday with a deeper understanding of the risks and responsibilities involved. We are grateful for Paul’s contribution to our school’s wellbeing initiatives and look forward to continuing these important conversations.
UNIFORM UPDATE – SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY
As we continue to move into spring, and once the warmer weather becomes a little more predictable, we will communicate our transition toward the summer uniform. In the meantime, we ask all families to continue supporting our community by ensuring students follow the current uniform requirements until notified. Your support helps maintain the high standards and sense of belonging that define our school
Warm regards
