Each year, the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference releases a Social Justice Statement that addresses a significant social concern and explores our collective and personal response to it.
Thank you to Ethan Luke, Codi Weber, Macie Harrison and Oliver Tsilifis for representing St John’s in this year’s theme for 2025-26 - Signs of Hope on the Edge: Serving homeless people with mental ill-health.
DIOCESAN CATHOLIC MISSION MONTH LAUNCH
Kori and Imogen attended the Diocesan launch of Catholic Mission Month at Magdalene College on Thursday 11 September. The theme for 2025 is "Missionaries of Hope Among all Peoples," reflecting the Jubilee Year theme of hope and encouraging solidarity and action to support communities in need, particularly in areas of healthcare, education, and spiritual care.
SEASON OF CREATION
Monday, September 1 marked the beginning of the Season of Creation which continues until the feast day of Francis of Assisi on Saturday October 4.
Charlize, Maya, Sophia and Mr Comensoli attended a special Mass held at St Mary's Parish, Milton. The theme for the Season of Creation this year is "Peace with Creation".
YEAR 12 STUDIES OF RELIGION 2UNIT WRITING WORKSHOP
Year 12 Studies of Religion 2unit students participated in a workshop at St John's with students from Corpus Christi Catholic High School. The focus of the workshop was to assist students in developing their skills in responding to written questions for the HSC. Teachers from both schools worked with small groups of students providing advice and immediate feedback to support students in refining their skills.
