ASSORTED NEWS
In week 9, the Year 9 Bushcraft 2 class completed their overnight hike. The students were challenged with some big hills to climb but were rewarded at the end of the day with swimming, fishing and rock skimming at our river campsite. This hike gives the students the opportunity to put into practice the skills and knowledge they have learnt over the past three terms, and continue to develop their perseverance and resilience which are the cornerstone of Outdoor Education. They also experienced some excellent experiential learning related to food rationing!
Last week, our Year 11 Hospitality students participated in their work placements. St John's extends its sincere thanks to the following businesses for generously hosting our students:
- The Treat Factory, Berry
- Benny's Café, Culburra
- Flour Water Salt, South Nowra
- The General Store, Berry
- Bangalay Dining, Shoalhaven Heads
- Again and Again, Bomaderry
- Café Rene, South Nowra
- Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, Nowra

Your support provides invaluable real-world experience for our students, and we are truly grateful.

It was wonderful to welcome so many family members to Thursday’s Commissioning Assembly, where we formally recognised our 2026 student leaders—including the Student Representative Council, Youth Ministry Leaders, House Captains, Vice Captains, and Captains.
Your presence made the occasion even more special and served as a powerful reminder of the importance of encouraging and celebrating our young leaders as they take on these significant roles.
