DIVERSE LEARNING NEWS
It has been a wonderfully busy and rewarding term in the Diverse Learning Hub for our Year 11 and 12 students. They have shown great adaptability in welcoming the teachers who have stepped in while Mrs Corton has been on leave, and their enthusiasm for learning has been evident across a wide range of activities.
Students have enjoyed a novel study, hands-on maths tasks with fractions, decimals and money, and research into local organisations and businesses in the Shoalhaven. A highlight was a Hospitality focus, where students explored the workings of the coffee machine and, under supervision, created delicious coffees and hot chocolates. They also prepared sausage rolls and fudge, which were shared at the Year 12 Farewell Party.
Individual literacy, numeracy, and personal goals have been a key focus both in the classroom and in the playground. In Week 8, MC6 joined MC4 and MC5 at Berkeley for the All Ability Netball Day. The day was filled with teamwork, encouragement, and lots of laughter as students built skills, supported one another, and connected with peers from other schools.
Special congratulations to Belle for her recognition as a Year 12 inclusion school leader, and best wishes to Will as he takes part in the school immersion trip during the holidays.
This week we also farewell our Year 12 students – Emily, Georgia and Will. While we are excited to see where their next chapter takes them, they will be greatly missed in the Hub. Staff and students marked the occasion with a graduation celebration, complete with cake, music, and plenty of party food. Mr Eirth congratulated and thanked the graduates for their contributions to St John’s, while Georgia gave a thoughtful reply on behalf of her peers.

Well done, Senior MC – we are proud of you!
