Book Week Celebrations 2019

Year 7 English classes participated in creating a Literature Showbag. The task required students to select a book that they have treasured from their personal reading and create a show bag that is revealing of the text’s literary features.

Students included items in their show bags that were relevant to the plot, setting, characters, symbols/images and themes of the text. They also wrote a book blurb and decorated the bag. 

Prizes were awarded for each class. The winner received a $20 book voucher from Dymocks and the runner-up a $5 canteen voucher.

A presentation and explanation of the Literature Show Bags was made by students in the library. Class members listened to the presentations and selected the winner and runnerup for their class. An impressive display of highlighted entries are on display in the Library.
