ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

This week we welcomed Year 5 students from St Mary's, Milton and St Michael's Nowra to join our school community for a day. It was a great opportunity for the Primary students to get a taste of high school.

The morning was enjoyed immersed in the world of science, with Year 5 students conducting experiments with the assistance of our students. Following this, students enjoyed watching a magical chemistry show performed by none other than our Principal Mrs Hogan.

The afternoon session also provided students with learning opportunities at the Farm, in Bushcraft and Drama.
A huge thank you to the students who helped out on the day as well as to the staff who made the day possible.
We farewelled the Year 5’s who had had an exciting and fun-filled day, all very excited about their learning future.
In the coming weeks we will be talking to the girls about issues around the wearing of their sport shorts. In recent times, a significant number of girls have been wearing the sports shorts inappropriately. It seems that students are purchasing shorts which are smaller than their regular sizing and as such they are both too tight and too short. I will be meeting with the girls next week and reminding them of the expectations around the wearing of our sports shorts. I do understand that this is a sensitive issue and the topic will be discussed with respect and dignity. We will be requiring the relevant students to address this uniform requirement over the holidays and return to school in 2020 with appropriately sized shorts.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Leonie Pearce
