ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL REPORT
Student pick up in the afternoon
There are several concerns about the collection of students from school in the afternoon. Please observe the following guidelines to ensure the safety of all our students.
- It is a 40 zone from 2.30 - 4.00pm and police may monitor this expectation at any time
- Year 12 students should depart their parking spot in a safe manner - always aware of the safety of those students and members of the public around them.
- The student pick up zone has a 2 minute waiting limit. If your child does not enter the car within that time limit drivers should drive off and then re-enter the zone, allowing others to move forward.
- Students are not permitted to enter a car anywhere else bar the pick up zone or the netball parking area. They CANNOT enter a car on the roadside.
- Parents are asked to not park in the carpark across from the bus bay. Students are not to walk across the road to that carpark as it is a designated bus route and not safe for pedestrians.
These guidelines are in place to ensure the safety of all students and their families. It may appear inconvenient but to wait or park a distance from the school may be both safer and even more time efficient. We have a well organised system to get students onto buses safely and if parents park around the corner from the school, it is only a minute's walk for the students and they can get in the car safely. Students who are in walking distance from the school are encouraged to do so to assist in the reduction of traffic. If you have any concerns about transport arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact me through the office.
