ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

YEAR 7 2019
We have had two very exciting events in recent days with our focus firmly set on the new Year 7’s joining us in 2019. It was great to see a mix of new and experienced parents join us for our group parent information evenings. We hope that this small group setting provided parents with the opportunity to meet other parents and to connect with the teachers here at St John's.

Monday 18 November saw the many Year 7 2020 students come along for Orientation Day. Their excited faces were heart-warming. It was such a proud moment to see Year 9 students step into their roles as Peer Support leaders and they did a fantastic job. One memorable moment for me was to see the Year 9 boys greet Year 6 boys with a firm handshake. There were many other signs of hospitality and welcome but I felt so proud of our young men at this moment.

END OF YEAR
As we make our way to the end of the year, it is important keep our expectations high and to ensure that all students have a positive end to the year. Work does continue up until the end of the year, although there are some special programs in place. It is therefore important that all students attend school each day and do so with a positive approach to their learning.
Have a good week.
