CAREERS NEWS

UOW DISCOVERY DAY

On Friday 7 February 53 of our Year 12 students attended University of Wollongong’s Discovery Day. Students attended many university style lectures, saw and used the University's facilities and asked questions about the courses they may be considering for their future studies. Students also enjoyed the many different lunch options and social activities on offer during the lunch break.

UNIVERSITY PREPARATION PROGRAM (UPP)

A guest speaker from UOW will attend the school to provide information about the UPP and the application process. The information session will run on Tuesday 25th Feb during lunchtime. It is strongly encouraged that all ATAR year 12 students attend this session.

DEFENCE WORK EXPERIENCE

Students in Year 10 wanting to undertake work experience with the Defence Force must apply through the Defence website.

MEDIA INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION TRAINEESHIP

An opportunity exists for students looking to start a career in business. Offering a 12 month traineeship in Business Administration with on-going employment. This is a full time position with on the job training and a Certificate II in Business Administration on completion. See Mrs Hill for further details and assistance with the application process.

YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE

Year 10 work experience will take place in Term 4 Week 9 (Monday 7 December to Friday 11 December 2020). Students are responsible for organising their own work experience and will receive the paperwork for this before the end of this term.

UCAT

Any students considering a career in medicine or dentistry, will need to sit a compulsory entry exam known as the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) before they can apply for relevant placements in the aforementioned fields of study within universities.  UCAT preparation is highly recommended. Being UCAT-ready means practising UCAT-style questions consistently over a longer period of time as opposed to leaving it until the time when students need to devote their full attention to their Year 12 work.
