ARBORICULTURE TRAINEESHIP available with Shoalhaven City Council.

During the traineeship the successful candidate will complete a Certificate III Arboriculture over 36 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer Shoalhaven City Council.

Throughout the formal training and practical experience in the workplace, the candidate will have the opportunity to perform the following tasks:

  • Routine planting
  • Simple plant identification
  • Tree trimming, pruning, hedging and raking
  • Operating small plant equipment and hand tools
  • EWP Operations
  • Traffic control duties
  • Various manual handling and routine labouring tasks

CYBER SECURITY VIRTUAL TECH SUMMIT AND HACKATHON

Join the IBM - Charles Sturt University - ITIC - Virtual Technology Summit and Hackathon on 22 - 23 June 2020.

IBM, CSU and ITIC are pleased to present this event, to be held online over 2 days. The technical summit brings together a group of distinguished speakers from Industry, Government and Academia and will be a unique opportunity for those interested in Cyber Security. HSC AND BEYOND CAREER EXPO FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Given the cancellation of the careers expos this year, we know that Years 10-12 students and parents are struggling to get the information they need to understand their options and make informed decisions about the admissions process, course choices and career paths. HSC & Beyond Careers Expo aim to fill this void.

WHAT'S ON OFFER?

  • Exhibition Hall Visit with over 50 universities, TAFE and education providers representing NSW, VIC and QLD. Live chat, video chat, schedule a meeting or download course handbooks, videos and other resources at each booth. In addition to all tertiary exhibitors, major career paths are represented including Hospitality, Aviation, Culinary, Hotel Management, Sport and Creative Arts.
  • Auditorium Over 120 live daily sessions about time-sensitive scholarship opportunities, early entry programs, campus life, UAC & NESA updates, subject-specific exam insights by senior teachers and markers (across all major subjects), inspirational speakers, career guidance and maintaining a positive mindset throughout the senior years of high school.   • Resource Hub UAC, NESA and senior teachers and markers by subject are available for live chat. Parents and students can also download free guides and resources to help navigate course, career and admissions process information.

WHEN IS IT?

YEAR 10 UOW - SUBJECT SELECTION WEBINAR

University of Wollongong will be running a Year 10 Subject Selection webinar on Monday 22 June, 6pm.

The Year 10 Subject Selection webinar is for students thinking about studying at university who would like to know more about UOW degrees and choosing subjects that provide a good foundation for each study area. Staff from the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) will go through the ATAR, how it is calculated, and touch on scaling.

It will also cover:

YEAR 12: SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY KENVAL COLLEGE

Students who are keen to take a step up towards their hospitality career, here is the opportunity to nominate for a scholarship if you have a real passion for Hospitality, Cookery or Events!

The High Flyer Program is designed to give selected students a real head start in their career and offers them a chance to learn from award-winning, industry-leading lecturers.

Selected students will experience two days of hands-on training and visit a prestigious hospitality establishment, winners of the program with outstanding performance will be awarded $3,000 towards their tuition fee & a trip to New Zealand for a week of work experience in a leading hospitality venue (all expenses paid for!), and become part of Kenvale College’s successful Alumni members.
