School Bus Travel

There are a number of 2019 bus passes which have not yet been collected by students from the office. Please send your student to the school office as soon as possible if they have not received their bus pass. Parents are reminded that the School Free Travel is only valid from home to school as per the conditions on the back of the pass. Fares will be charged for all other journeys.
If you are yet to apply for a bus pass or your details have changed eg: address, please go to www.transportnsw.info/school-students. Alternatively you can call the transport info line on 131500.

Absentees

It is a legal requirement that any absence from school must be explained by responding to the Absence SMS on the day or in writing; a telephone call to the school cannot be recorded as an absence explanation. Parents are requested to please respond to the Absence SMS or an email can be sent to info@sjedow.catholic.edu.au. Alternatively a written note can be submitted to the office or the PALS teacher upon your child's return to school. Each family should have a yellow Absentee Booklet, which is available from the front office.

Early Leavers

If you need to collect your child early from school, please send a note with them, which they will bring to the office before school. Students will receive an Early Leaver stamp in their diary providing them permission to leave class. They will meet you at the office and there is no waiting for anyone. It is difficult to get a child out of class on short notice and it also disrupts both the teachers and students. If a student is at sport, or doing a practical class they can be difficult to locate. We do understand that sometimes plans can change and If you do find that you need to pick your child up urgently please ring the school before you come in to give us time to locate them. Notes are needed for audit purposes, so you will be asked to provide a note every time your child is late to school, absent for any reason or leaves early.
It would be appreciated if any change to after school travel arrangements that is to be communicated to your child is received by the office no later than 2.30pm.

Head Lice

Recently we have had some known cases of Head Lice in the school. Please check your childs hair regulary and treat accordingly if necessary.
