The last few weeks of 2020 have been jammed packed with activities for Year 9. The Adventure Day was a tremendous opportunity for the students to spend some much needed time together in a fun and relaxed environment. 

Activities that the students engaged in on the day consisted of abseiling, canoeing, swimming, bushwalking, Tree Tops Adventure, games and Team Challenges. All students put in 100% effort to ensure the day was a great experience!

A big thank you goes out to all of the teachers that supported the day and ran activities. Particular mention must go to Mr Jakymszyn and Mr Higgins for the many hours put in to organising such a fun day for the students.

The Pastoral Afternoon again was a fun experience where the students had to problem solve in their house groups.

Some really beautiful designs were created and there was lots of fun and laughter during creation and the parade of ‘garments’.

The year group enjoyed afternoon tea and then cheered on the finalist of the Volleyball Competition. Congratulations to A Netball Team on being the winners for 2020!

We did manage to get in our Reflection Day, albeit, shorter than normal.

The reflective activities gave students the opportunity to think about our year group motto “God has no hands but yours” whilst connecting it to the image and likeness of God.

Thank you Mr Lopez, Ms Baker and the RE teachers for making this time special for Year 9.

Year 9 again had the opportunity to participate in the Love Bites Program. This year Love Bites was presented in a reduced format but this did not impact the way students engaged in developing their awareness of the Unwritten Rules of relationships and Gender Stereotypes.

Thank you Year 9 on the way you have engaged in these activities. It has been wonderful being a part of the laughter and joy of this terrific year group.
