Welcome back for 2021! We have a busy year ahead and students have started the year in a positive way. Year 9 sees lots of changes with subjects and classes. While there has been some minor teething problems with these changes there is a good vibe across the year group as they start their elective courses in a range of subject areas. I welcome Mrs Frawley, Mr Gibson and Mrs Fox to the Year 9 PALS team. 

It has been such a positive start to the year to see the majority of students wearing their uniform appropriately. There has been some confusion in relation to some issues mainly around girls’ skirt length, jewellery and piercings as well as students not wearing the mandatory SJE socks. All students must wear these socks, this means any student wearing socks with logos or stripes will receive consequences as per school guidelines. The uniform expectations and requirements are clearly outlined in the student diary. Also a reminder that sports uniforms are only to be worn on practical PDHPE days and for the following double period elective classes: PASS, Bushcraft and Agriculture. 

A reminder that Year 9 Camp is coming up in Week 6. Notes and payments are due next Friday 26 February. If there are any issues with payment or camp in general please do not hesitate to contact the school and speak to me. A reminder that this is a mandatory event and all students are required to attend. It is also vital for camp to run smoothly we need parent helpers. If you are able to help at any stage during the camp please fill in a parent helper form and return to the school.
