Year 7 have had a busy start to the term with a number of key events. Firstly our school carnivals including cross country and athletics, have been held at Willandra and Shoalhaven athletics fields.

I would like to congratulate students on the way that they have involved themselves in these events. We have seen a large number of students participating in all our school carnivals. Students have witnessed the house spirit as they have cheered on their friends and encouraged their house groups. 

This week students have been involved with NAPLAN testing. These national tests give teachers feedback on their students and areas in which they can focus their teaching. Students can also use these results to identify areas of strengths and areas of weakness so that students and their families are able to best support their students. 

 

In the next few weeks we have Foundation Day. This is a special day at St John’s where we celebrate the beginnings of our Catholic school in the Shoalhaven. Students will need to come prepared for the mass in the morning followed by a whole school fair full of food and activities.
